3 Key Questions to Ask to Help You Decide on a Senior Photoshoot Location
Choosing a location for your senior photo session should be a fun part of the planning process. If you are feeling stressed about making a choice though, there are three questions you can ask to quickly and easily narrow down your choices.
-
What Does My Schedule Look Like?
Before you start looking at locations, take a look at your schedule. You might find that you are far less busy during certain months, which is when you should book your shoot. Trying to squeeze one more thing into your schedule could leave you feeling tired and worried on the day of your session, which will shine through in your photos. -
Do I Love the Idea of a Specific Season?
Think about which season you enjoy the most. If you love the wintertime because it’s cooler and you have a beautiful selection of coats, that’s when you should schedule your session. Can barely leave the house during winter? Spring or summertime is a better bet for you. -
How Do I Want to Use My Photos?
If you’re just planning to print your photos or share them on social media, you can book your session at any time of the year. However, if you want to add one of your photos to your yearbook or use it for a holiday card, pick a date accordingly.
There really is no right or wrong answer to where you should shoot your senior photos, it’s all about your preferences and when you have some time available to plan what you need to. Just know that you don’t need to go along with what everyone else is doing. If you’re happy to simply have a shoot at home, do that. However, if you have a fun and exciting location idea, share it with your photographer and get the ball rolling.
