How to Display Senior Portraits Without Them Looking Out of Place
So, you really want to display your child’s senior portraits in your home. However, you also don’t want it to look like some weird shrine, so how can you strike a healthy balance and make the photos a natural part of your home’s décor?
Here are 3 simple ideas to help you incorporate senior photos into your home in a more natural and aesthetically pleasing way.
- Add Them to the Sibling Mix
If you love your child’s senior portraits but don’t want to place them on a wall on their own, create a mix of sibling photos instead. Whether your other kids are older or younger, collect a few portrait and group photos that include them all and create a photo collage on one of your walls. Better yet, if you love to photograph your children’s achievements, create a photo wall dedicated to this alone.
- Use a Series of Images
It’s usually when you only hang one large senior portrait on a wall that it starts to look a bit like a shrine of sorts. To counteract this, rather hang a series of images from the same session. Better yet, hang several images that flow. This means it’s the same scene and outfit, there are just slightly different poses in each photo – canvas works really great for this.
- Add It to the Family Wall
If you already have a family portrait wall, or you’ve always wanted to create one, you can simply work one or two of your child’s senior portraits into the mix. Perhaps you even have framed family photos on a mantel – a framed senior photo will also work well here.
Whatever you do, don’t let your child skip a professional senior photo session, they will regret it. Plus, they get to make it their own – no awkward posed shots against a backdrop required.
