You’ve spent weeks, or even months, planning your senior photo session. Your outfit is ready and you’re about to get your hair done, but...it’s raining. Now what?
Having it rain on the day of your senior photo session isn’t ideal, but you still have options. Here are the steps that you can take:
● Pack an umbrella. If you don’t mind walking in the rain, why not incorporate an umbrella into your shoot? You may still get a little wet, but you will leave with fun senior photos.
● Plan additional outfits. If you suspect that it might rain on the day of your shoot, plan one or two backup outfits that would work in that weather.
● Use towels. If you’re going ahead with the rainy-day shoot, bring along a few towels to dry off in between shots. A plastic bag is also helpful for after the shoot when you want to change out of your wet clothes.
● Prepare for touch-ups. If your makeup happens to run in between photos, have some makeup on hand for touch-ups. Having a brush is also helpful.
● Move the location. If you have chosen an outdoor location, finding an overhang is one option if it’s raining on the day of your shoot. If not, you can always move the shoot to an indoor location. In fact, it helps to have a location plan B set up prior to your session.
If all else fails, you can always reschedule your senior photos. This does mean you need to find a new date and possibly reschedule your hair and makeup appointments too. However, if it means you get the photos you were hoping for, waiting a little longer isn’t that bad.
