Is It Too Late to Book My Senior Photoshoot for This Year?
Senior year is busy and if you still haven’t scheduled your professional photoshoot, you may be wondering whether you should leave it until next year or not do it at all.
Let’s start by saying that it’s highly recommended that you still schedule a senior portrait session – you won’t regret it. Even if you have to push it out, don’t skip it if you can help it. This session will capture one of the most important milestones in your life.
So, is it too late to still book your shoot?
Most senior photography sessions are usually scheduled during spring or summer. This is because the temperatures from March to May are the most comfortable. Plus, it ensures you get your senior shoot out of the way before your year gets busier.
However, this is not to say that it’s now too late to schedule a shoot.
If you don’t mind taking your photos in cooler weather, there is still time to book a slot with your favorite photographer. You may want to settle on 2 – 3 senior photographers though in case your first choice doesn’t have any availability the rest of the year.
If you are going to try and work in a professional photo session this year still, set aside 1 – 2 hours. And once you decide on a photographer, all that’s left to do is decide on a location, an outfit, and props if you want to use them.
Should I Take My Own Senior Photos?
When you’re pressed for time, taking your own senior photos might seem like a good idea. While this will always be an option, keep in mind that you’re losing out on professional equipment, guidance during your shoot, and editing thereafter.
Chances are, you’re not going to get the photos you’re hoping for, which is why it’s better to set some time aside with a professional.
